Thanks to Peter Casey, Clare GAA Games Development Officer, who did an excellent training session on Monday night in Moorefield. Peter put the girls (and coaches) through their paces and were very impressed with the standard! Thanks to Brendan Kenny, Kildare Development officer for picking the team. Check out their drills on the videos below…

Camán and Explore! – Workshop for Juvenile Coaches at Moorefield GAA, Monday 25th June 7-9pm

This workshop is ideally aimed at coaches working with 9-12-year-olds (the ‘demo’ squad will be Moorefield u11s), but very relevant for all juvenile coaches. It details the key techniques, coaching points, games and exercises to be used with this age group as outlined in the Camogie and Hurling Player Pathways. We explore gameplay, including basic game understanding and look at considerations and challenges of early game awareness. This free workshop will be led by Clare GAA Games Development Officer and Expert Tutor, Peter Casey.

24th June

The Under-11 Camogie team played Kilcullen’s Under-12s this morning in a very competitive match. The girls played brilliantly in very hot conditions and won by 4 points. A special mention goes to Lillian Rose (Under-8) who played in her first game with the girls and played great. A big thanks to Kilcullen who gave the girls fruit during the breaks and drinks and goodies after the match.
