Trip to De La Salle 2010

Photographs

Ger Brenner was born in Waterford in 1937 and died at the untimely age of 56. He was often heard say his greatest & proudest achievement in his life were his 7 children (Ernie, Rosie, Gerry, Johnny, Billy, Charlotte & Stephen).
He instilled in them his drive & passion for sport, most especially the game of hurling. In fact, the name Brenner has become synonymous with hurling in Waterford.
The Ger Brenner Cup was brought about to honour this great DeLaSalle clubman.
The first tournament took place in 2010and involved his daughter Roseanns’ adopted club Moorefield (kildare).
Since then it has continued annually in both hurling and camogie, and incorporates St Sylvesters Dublin (Ernie), Killeagh Cork (Johnny), Ballyhale Shamrocks Kilkenny (Billy) and Ballinteer St Johns Dublin (Charlotte). To date the Ger Brenner Cup has never left the DeLaSalle stronghold…
